GENERAL
- Improves the nutrients available to the horse from
forage and straights in two ways:-
- The minerals, vitamins, trace-elements and amino
acids in TopSpec BloodStock balance hay (or haylage)
and straights, allowing more nutrients to be utilised.
- The pure yeast benefits hindgut function, reducing
acidity, improving fibre digestibility and so increasing
energy availability.
These two facts mean that horses can receive optimum
nutrition from reduced levels of hard feed. Research
has shown that reduced levels of cereal-based hard feed
can reduce the incidence of colic and laminitis. Recent
research in Australia has also demonstrated that when
the hindgut becomes too acidic (pH 5-6) the gut wall
becomes 'leaky' and 'laminitis trigger factors' cross
into the bloodstream and so down to the feet.
- Greatly improves hoof, skin and coat quality (Biotin
is included at the level [15mg/500kg horse/day] that
is scientifically proven to improve hoof quality, plus
optimum levels of sulphur-containing amino acids methionine
and cysteine, calcium, vitamin A, zinc, copper, iodine
and intracellular soya oil).
- Moderates the effects of stress such as travelling,
visiting studs and weaning (Generous levels of anti-oxidants,
principally vitamins A, C, E, and selenium combat the
free radicals that are increased by stress; yeast and
MOS offset the effects of stress on the gut).
- Helps maintain a healthy immune system ( Rich in vitamins
A, C, E and B6 plus MOS and Omega 3 fatty acids).

SPECIFIC
BENEFITS FOR MARES
- Provides nutritional support
for optimum fertility (Multiple
nutrients including vitamins A, E and biotin).
- Promotes milk yield (Multiple
nutrients including pure yeast).
- Helps to maintain good body
condition whilst lactating (Nutrient-dense feed with
high bio-availability).
- Helps to maintain appetite
in last trimester of gestation (Nutrient-dense feed,
yeast and vitamin B12).
SPECIFIC BENEFITS
FOR FOALS AND YOUNGSTOCK
- When fed to the dam all the micronutrient requirements
of the in-utero foal are met, helping the foal to reach
it's maximum potential at birth (Rich in highly bio-available
trace-elements for correct skeletal development).
- Very palatable for foals from three weeks of age.
- Promotes fast even growth rates without over-topping
(Concentrated feed with ingredients to maintain appetite,
packed full of high quality protein, vitamins [B group,
A and biotin] and minerals for musculo-skeletal development
whilst allowing independent alteration of calorie intake).
- Promotes correct limb development, maximising bone
production and strength (High quality protein, rich
in essential amino acids plus optimum levels of calcium,
phosphorus, vitamins [D, A, C, niacin, and biotin] and
magnesium, copper, zinc and manganese).
- Beneficial for the nutritional support of those being
treated for DOD (Research has shown that diets with
too high a ratio of energy, in relation to protein,
can contribute to the development of DOD. TopSpec Bloodstock
has a very low ratio of energy to protein. Research
has also shown that optimum levels of trace-elements
such as copper and zinc can reduce the incidence of
DOD. TopSpec Bloodstock contains optimum levels of these
and other nutrients important for correct limb development,
see above).
- Promotes superb muscle development (High quality
protein, rich in essential amino acids such as lysine;
plus vitamin E and selenium, vitamin A, calcium, magnesium
and copper).
- Helps to maintain a healthy appetite, particularly
during the weaning period (very palatable and nutrient-dense;
yeast and vitamin B12).
SPECIFIC BENEFITS
FOR STALLIONS
- Provides the nutritional
support to optimise fertility (Multiple nutrients).
- Helps to maintain condition
throughout the covering season (Nutrient dense, multiple
nutrients, yeast and vitamin B12).
- Promotes excellent muscle
tone to sustain covering performance (High quality protein,
rich in essential amino acids such as lysine; plus vitamin
E and selenium, vitamin A, calcium, magnesium and copper).
