Introduction
- Improves the nutrients available to the horse from
forage and straights in two ways: -
- The minerals, vitamins, trace-elements and amino
acids in TopSpec Racing balance hay (or haylage)
and straights, allowing more nutrients to be utilised.
- The pure yeast benefits hindgut function, reducing
acidity, improving fibre digestibility and so
increasing energy availability
These two facts mean that horses can receive optimum
nutrition from reduced levels of hard feed which will
lead to a healthier, more efficient digestive tract.
Research has shown that reduced levels of cereal-based
hard feed can reduce the incidence of colic.
- Promotes superb muscle development and function
(High quality protein, rich in essential amino acids
such as lysine; plus vitamin E and selenium, vitamin
A, calcium, magnesium and copper).
- Provides nutritional support for optimum speed,
stamina and recovery rates (Multiple nutrients including
those listed above).
- Optimises bone development in young racehorses and
strength in all ages (High quality protein, rich in
essential amino acids plus optimum levels of calcium,
phosphorus, vitamins [D, A, C, niacin and biotin]
magnesium, copper, zinc and manganese).
- Helps to maintain appetite at peak fitness (Very
palatable and nutrient-dense; yeast and vitamin B12).
- Efficient energy metabolism (Generous levels of
B vitamins, phosphorus, magnesium plus vitamins A,
C and E with selenium and manganese).
- Provides nutritional support for red cell formation
(Copper, zinc, vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid with
a carefully balanced, but not excessive, level of
iron).
- Greatly improves hoof, skin and coat quality (Biotin
is included at the level [15mg/500kg horse/day] that
is scientifically proven to improve hoof quality,
plus optimum levels of sulphur-containing amino acids
methionine and cysteine, calcium, vitamin A, zinc,
copper, iodine and intracellular soya oil).
- Moderates the effects of stress, such as extensive
time in a stable, later stages of training, travelling
and racing (Generous levels of anti-oxidants, principally
vitamins A, C, E, and selenium combat the free radicals
that are increased by stress; yeast and MOS offset
the effects of stress on the gut).
- Helps maintain a healthy immune system ( Rich in
vitamins A, C, E and B6 plus MOS and Omega-3 fatty
acids).
- Simplifies feeding (TopSpec every day provides high
quality protein, vitamins and minerals whilst allowing
independent alteration of calorie intake. No need
to have different feeds during the fittening process,
just increase the oats as required. Ideal as a low-starch
base feed for horses needing specialist diets e.g.
those prone to tying-up).
- Aids recovery in convalescents (TopSpec fed alone,
with hay or high-fibre haylage as a forage source,
enables horses to be kept on a high forage/low concentrate
diet. This is essential when on box-rest, because
maintaining protein, vitamin and mineral intake is
vital for tissue repair but intake of calories in
the form of sugars and starch must be minimised to
avoid metabolic problems and to allow the horse to
recover calmly).
