The four-year-old Springwater Sadler’s Wells went through the card at the BSPS Native Heritage Championships to take the Supreme of Show Award at his very first show. Owned and produced by Craig Elenor Equestrian and ridden by Cate Kerr. He has been both  ‘Bred on TopSpec and Fed on TopSpec’ throughout his life.

‘Welly’ as he is known at home was bred by Nicola and Philip Tyler and was a Dartmoor Pony Society Star Show Champion as a yearling. Nicola said ‘ Welly was an exceptional colt but unfortunately he couldn’t cope with his teenage hormones so we reluctantly decided to geld him as a two-year-old. I was delighted when Craig leapt at the chance of producing him in lead-rein classes as he is so typy and an exceptional mover. I am sure he has an exciting future ahead of him and pleased that he will also be able to enjoy hacking and fun activities.

Welly was  beautifully mannered and literally danced his way through the championships at Arena UK. He exhibited great natural balance to capture the Restricted Mini Title and Heritage Mini Championship before he went Supreme, much to everyone’s delight.

Said Sara Parrott, who co-owns and produces him with Craig: “We love him and have always thought he was special, but we thought he would be too green to go much further than his class.  However, he seemed to get better and better each time he went into the ring – we certainly didn’t expect something like this so soon, though, and especially for a four-year-old.”
