From In Hand Superstar to the Royal International Horse Show

A SIX-year-old Large Riding Horse that had a hugely successful in hand showing career is continuing his winning ways for owner Rebecca Johnson-Townley.Runnon Rio Grande

Runnon Rio Grande is by Catherston Dazzler and was bred by Emma Edwards-Brady of the Runnon Stud in Devon.

Produced this season by Robert Walker, the pair recently qualified for both the Royal International Horse Show and HOYS.

Chershire-based Rebecca is set to take the ride at the Royal International and is looking forward to competing at Hickstead.

“We bought Runnon Rio Grande after his three-year-old season and are delighted with how well he has matured and developed.” said Rebecca.

“He was very successful winning a host of championships as a young horse and we are very pleased this has continued under saddle.

“As a five-year-old he was Reserve Novice Riding Horse Champion at the National Championships and this season in Open classes he has won at three out of his four shows.”

Supported by TopSpec, Robert feeds Runnon Rio Grande, TopSpec Comprehensive Feed Balancer, TopSpec Cool Condition Cubes and TopChop Alfalfa with the attractive dark bay gelding looking a picture of health.
