TEAM TopSpec event rider Bill Levett has been in superlative form over the last few weeks.
At Saumur CCI*** he won with Shannondale Titan and then came second at Tattersalls with Improvise in the CCI*** and won the CIC*** with Silk Stone.
Said Bill: “All the horses have been fed on TopSpec consistently and it has helped manage their condition and stamina.
“It has been a long road and a huge team effort with Shannondale Titan (Alfie), but I couldn’t be more pleased with him, or for the Prentices, or for my whole support team.
“It was his first three star but he felt like an old pro cross country, looking for the flags, and what is very exciting is there is much more to come on the flat. I couldn’t be more pleased with him. I went to Saumur hoping for a top five placing but knowing he had the potential for more so I’m pleased, very pleased.
“At Tattersalls I was so pleased for Silks (Silk Stone) to get his first serious win under his belt in the CIC***. He jumped a beautiful show jumping round, then gave me a great ride cross country. To top it off, he actually had a fence in hand which was really pleasing. A great result for Francis, his owner, given his Irish roots in particular.
Womble (Improvise) then came second in the CCI***. He had one rail but really tried hard to hold onto a great placing. The show jumping tracks were big and square with plenty of verticals. There were a few clears but not many, which just shows the quality of horse power at these type of competitions these days.
“If someone had said my three 3* horses would have two firsts and a second before I headed to Saumur, well let’s just say I would have taken that!”
