TopSpec sponsored rider Michaela Wood continued her great run of major results by winning the Intermediate Championship at the 2016 Great Yorkshire Show with her own home produced seven-year-old dark brown mare, DP UK Night Dancer.
With wins and championships already notched up at South Of England, Lincolnshire County and the BSPS Mid-Summer Championship Show plus six HOYS golden tickets achieved in a three week period for the team it was off to Harrogate for the biggest event in the showing calendar so far this year.
To win at the Great Yorkshire Show means a lot to Michaela as this is her local county show and although she has won the Ridden Coloured Championship there three years ago to claim the Intermediate title was always the prize she wanted especially as this is Michaela’s last year in this section.
Michaela and DP UK Night Dancer are no strangers to top honours as they are the reigning BSPS Supreme Intermediate Champions but as Michaela said: “I was under a bit of pressure as not only were all my friends and family watching but my dad’s Ridden Hunter had won the Open Middleweight class on the first day and
the Intermediate Championship was the one I wanted to win as it’s my last year and DP UK Night Dancer always gives 100%.”
