Hugely Successful Royal International Horse Show for Horses and Ponies #FedonTopSpec

WITH a plethora of outstanding successes at this year’s Royal International Horse Show for horses and ponies fed on TopSpec there was much to celebrate for the North Yorkshire-based team.

Young India Till crowned a brilliant show by taking the prestigious Supreme Pony Championship on Drakemyre Puttin On The Ritz having won the BSPS Supreme Show Pony Championship earlier in the day. Produced by Katy Carter and owned by India’s mum Henrietta, the pony was well and truly on song at the show, also winning the BSPS Small Ridden Anglo & Part-bred Arab Championship.

In the Skewbald & Piebald Native/Traditional Small Ridden Pony Championship it was the turn of the in-form Llyn Rhyn Krystal, ridden by Adam Forster and owned by Rhian Jones to take the honours adding to their superb tally this season.

A winner at the Great Yorkshire show, Red Rock and Vicky Hesford continued their success when taking the Skewbald & Piebald Native/Cob/Traditional Ridden Horse Championship for owner Tracey Veale.

Producer Sharn Linney was all smiles when Thistledown Sea Mariner and Lily Brennan secured the 133cms (13.0hh) Show Hunter Pony Championship much to the delight of Lily’s mum Lucy.

In the TopSpec BSPS 133cms (13.0hh) Working Hunter Pony Championship, the Reserve Championship went to Noble Peppermint, ridden by Ruby Ward and owned by Kelly Ward after a close run competition.

Long time TopSpec ambassadors Robert Walker and Jayne Ross were in great form with wins and championships to their names.

In the Heavyweight Hunter Championship, it was the turn of Jayne riding Twinshock Warrior who then went on to head the Supreme Hunter Championship, ridden by Vicky Smith, deputising for Jayne and owned by Mrs J Marsden and Mrs T Moulden.

The Middleweight Hunter Championship went to Northern Pride, ridden by Robert Walker owned by Jill Day, while the Lightweight Hunter Championship, and Reserve Hunter Champion fell to Temple Ogue, ridden by Jayne and owned by Mrs K Campbell.

The BSPS Heritage M&M Open Ridden (Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetlands) saw a win for Salcombe Frowder Cove, ridden by Katy Marriot-Payne and owned by Felicity Thompson while the BSPS Heritage M&M Open Ridden (Welsh Section A & B), Heritage M&M Junior Championship went to Thistledown Snow Storm, produced by Sharn Linney, ridden by Talia Aristidou and owned by Elizabeth Aristidou.

Success in the M&M sections continued with Blisland Echo, produced by Craig Elenor Equestrian, ridden by Cate Kerr and owned by Lisa Kerr taking the BSPS Heritage M&M Open First Ridden, before becoming Reserve Mini Champion.

After heading the Lightweight Working Hunter Championship, Atlantic Slim, ridden by Rory Gilsenan and owned by Jane Collins took the Supreme Working Hunter Championship, an emotional occasion after Rory’s fight back to good health.

In the Amateur Hunter sections the Heavyweight Championship went to Dragons Den, ridden and owned by Helen Cowley while in the BSPS Intermediate Working Hunter Championship, Silver Lough, ridden and owned by William Pittendrigh ran out the worthy winners.

The Large Hack Championship saw a win for Forgelands Hyde Park, ridden by Jayne Ross and owned by Miranda Wallace before they went on to take the Supreme Hack Championship.

Robert Walker was again to the fore in the Small Hack Championship with Parkgateroyalvisit William owned by Zara Brooks.

It was the turn of Harriett Dennison in the SPS Intermediate Small Show Riding Championship winning with Whalton A Bit Special, for producer Rachael Helliwell and co-owned with Shirley Dennison.

Last but not least Cate Kerr was back in the winners enclosure in the BSPS Show Pony 128cms (12.2hh) Championship with Kellythorpes Tiny Dancer, produced by Craig Elenor Equestrian and owned by Lisha Leeman.
